Our Energy Trading & Risk Management practice has a 15-year track record of helping leading energy firms improve the performance of their trading operations.Job Summary:At Sapient, a Senior Manager, Business Consulting plays a leadership role in structuring and planning client engagements, developing client relationships; and managing delivery teams. This individual will be a primary interface with clients and client teams to eventually become their trusted advisor; helping them to drive innovative strategies to improve business performance. Business consultants at Sapient focus primarily in three key areas:Business Problem Solving - Take ambiguous and complex business problems and using research and business assessment capabilities, define the problem, drive innovative ideas, define the opportunity set, and recommend actionable next steps. Informed Business Decision Making - Bring rigor a client's decision making process by performing detailed cost/benefit analysis, presenting and evaluating solution options, and driving consensus among key stakeholders. In some instances, we help our clients develop new decision frameworks and governance processes that continue to deliver value far beyond a particular engagement. Solution Planning - Define, scope and plan new solutions for clients. This includes determining how to measure business results, modeling current/future business processes, gather business requirements and identifying the organizational changes required to successfully realize the benefits of the solution. This individual will also be expected to use their unique skills to drive both sales pursuits and strategies, and to analyze and structure complex, long-term contracts with clients and partners. Key Responsibilities:o Day-to-day management and execution of key workstreams or engagements in accordance with established budget, workplans and quality standards. This may include:o Financial analysis and business case developmento Primary and secondary research and analysiso Customer, vendor, market analyst and client interviewso Solution scoping and definition o Lead and manage effective teams including individuals from different disciplines o Structure and price complex client engagements o Monitor financial performance of engagementso Develop new conceptual frameworks and analytical approaches o Develop and present solutions and recommendations o Own and grow senior client executiveso Guide, mentor and grow business consultants o Actively participate in new business development activitieso Practice development, including recruiting, training, thought leadership and community buildingExperience Guidelines:o 8-10 years experience consulting in Energy, having played hands on role as trader, trader analyst, risk manager, risk analyst, scheduler, credit risk manager, contract manager, accounting manager. o Good understanding of the energy/commodity industry end-to-end, especially crude oil and refined products. o Must have experience delivering new Energy Trading systems, specifically for Crude and/or Refined Productso Experience in both physical and financial trading environment trading preferredo Experience with process mapping and process redesigno Strong understanding of financial models; ability to create financial models o Creativity with an eye to developing new and innovative solutionso Strong problem identification and analytical skillso Primary and secondary research & analysis skillso Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to create & deliver clear, powerful & concise presentations/proposals and interact with senior clientso Ability to plan and manage time and resources, establish priorities and meet goalso Must have experience in successfully delivering business system change which involved gaining the buy-in of business userso Must also have the technical aptitude to communicate with the development team and understand the application architecture o Understanding of technology - specifically how technology can enable certain business functions. o Ability to plan and manage time and resources, establish priorities and meet goalso Highly proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Projecto Ability to manage and grow complex client relationships o Track record of managing and growing peopleo Proficient across particular functional areas and industrieso Proven ability to identify and cultivate new business opportunities o Ability to manage projects to revenue and margin targetsSignificant travel may be required as much of the work is done at the client site.Education:Ideal candidate will have an MBA or MS degree in related field.About Sapient:Sapient, a global services firm, helps clients compete, evolve and grow in an increasingly complex marketplace.
