Must have a 4-year degree and 4-7 years of business experience directly related to the position. Applicants must have excellent oral and written communication skills.




The ideal applicant will have experience with SQL Server 2005, insurance and/or financial Systems.




Essential Job Functions:




Analyze, design, modify, develop, writes and implements simple to moderately difficult programming applications, reports, and databases




Support, test, debug, and/or install software applications, including integration with other applications.




Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software




Document test plans and record test results




Gather requirements from users, create specifications and develop or modify code




Design and write code to support existing applications




Work with users to identify current business processes and/or workflows and to clarify program objectives, may be expected to write documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections as well as User and Operations procedures




Identify data sources, construct data decomposition diagrams, provide data flow diagrams and document the process




Write code for database access, modifications, and constructions including stored procedures




Special Skills and Requirements:


At least 3 years of experience with VB.NET, Microsoft SQL Server, and reporting tools (Crystal Reports or Reporting Services)




Experience with SQL Server 2005, insurance, or financial systems is a plus




Must have experience with all aspects of the systems development life cycle




Excellent analytical skills




Ability to understand and apply IS concepts and internal policies and procedures to solve a variety of problems




Knowledge of relational databases and client-server concepts




Flexibility to work overtime as needed by position and supervisor
