Summary:


Interviews clients for participation in Texas Department of Housing & Community Affairs Emergency Shelter Grant Program. Creates and tracks expenditures in an Excel spreadsheet. Determines eligibility and facilitates rent/mortgage and/or utility assistance. Creates and tracks expenditures in an Excel spreadsheet. Monitors compliance with policy, contract and goals in a consistent and timely manner by performing the following duties.




Essential Duties and Responsibility include the following. Other duties may be assigned.




Responsible for meeting all agency, program , contract and grant policies, reporting schedules and budgets.


Conducts intake interviews with potential clients.


Makes decisions regarding client eligibility and suitability for program according to TDH&CA, Emergency Shelter Grant Desk Guide and NAM’s criteria.


Assesses client needs and links participants to appropriate services including mainstream services.


Maintains client files and all relative paperwork in a correct and orderly manner.


Collects, submits and reports all necessary statistics and documents in an accurate and timely manner complying with report schedule, policies, grant criteria and the contract.


Ensures and protects client confidentiality.


Contacts participants three months after receiving assistance for periodic update.


Facilitates data entry in NAM’s database and Service Point and checks accuracy.


Facilitates the paperwork for rent, utility and other services.


Creates and tracks expenditures in an Excel spreadsheet within budgetary amounts.


Provides monthly reports for Director in a timely and accurate manner.


Attends Orientation Workshop and meetings.


Researches, collects and prepares for monitoring visits.


Attends all regular staff meetings, staff events and fundraising activities.




Education/Experience:


Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.




Computer Skills:


Word processing, Spreadsheets, database software, Internet software, E-mail.
