CROSSROADS mentors are regular people, just like you, who prevent or reduce youth involvement with the juvenile justice system by fostering positive mentoring relationships. The goal is crime prevention! Our mentors must be 21 years of age and volunteer a minimum of 1 hour a week. There are many sites available all throughout Houston to choose from. Many times, our mentors are the only visitors these children get. They are allowed to be a listening ear for the child and play cards, games, dominoes, etc. One CROSSROADS mentor says, “Volunteering through CROSSROADS has been a truly rewarding experience. I’ve mentored some really good kids who made some really bad choices, and it’s been gratifying to get to know them, earn their trust, and watch them grow.” Please consider devoting just one hour a week to the future of a needy child. Contact CROSSROADS at 713-295-2789 or visit us at www.CROSSROADS-volunteers.org
