Senior Buyer




Our booming Global Oil and Gas client is in need of a Senior Buyer to add to their procurement team. The Senior Buyer is responsible to assist the Procurement Manager in the supervision and guidance of the Purchasing Department in the company’s procurement operations; supervision and guidance of other Purchasing Department employees; evaluation and development of staff; critical tasks; and problem resolution with vendors and with Rig Operation.




Duties and Responsibilities:


• Assists the Procurement Manager in day-to-day supervision of the Procurement Department.


• Routine procurement operations on behalf of one or more Rig Operation Zones.


• Urgent Rig Down or Hot Air orders.


• Supervision of the Department’s expediting or cataloguing functions.


• Review of purchasing console for variances, unresolved problems, aged requisitions, and similar QA/QC activities.


• Research projects for the Marketing Department.




Requirements:


• Fifth year college or university program certificate or 2-4 years related experience or training.


• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


• Superior knowledge of and experience with industry manufactures and distributors is required.


• Direct experience at the rig site and /or hands on experience with the rig equipment is a significant plus.


• Direct experience in related positions is a plus; e.g. exposure to drilling operations, complete oilfield Supply Chain Cycle, Logistics, QA/QC, etc.
