Senior Electrical Designer

Work Location

Houston, TX

Responsibilities:

� Co-ordinate project electrical design activities

� Perform layout studies and assist Lead Electrical Engineer in developing scope of work for design/drafting activities

� Assist Lead Electrical Engineer in preparing project schedule for engineering, construction and commissioning activities.

� Perform progress reporting on design and drafting activities

� Supervise electrical designers, checker and drafters.

� Monitor and control project schedule, electrical design/drafting hours and material cost

� Ensure consistency and integrity of electrical design throughout project and review design for logic and functionality

� Strong design skills of a plant power, grounding, lighting and electric heat tracing layouts and associated single lines, schedules, schematics and wiring diagrams

� Inquire, evaluate, and prepare purchase requisition of electrical commodity material and sub-contracts

� Provide construction support at job site and perform pre-commissioning and start-up activities for electrical systems when required

Education & Experience:

* College diploma (D.E.C.) in Electrical Engineering

* Minimum 12+ years experience in petrochemical/refining

* Practical experience, some as a Lead Electrical Designer, in the design, construction and start-up for low and medium voltage plant distribution systems

* Experience of successfully completed Lead Electrical Designer role

* Experience in high voltage switchyard layout design would be an asset
